March 23: Saint Turibus
He was archbishop of Lima Peru. As Archbishop, he became the defender of the Indians, who were mistreated by his companions. He reformed the church in Peru. When he found out that he was going to die, he commanded that the psalm: I was glad when they said unto me, let us go up into the house of the Lord. be sung.
He also tells us that many sinners change the law of God to make their sin permissible. They call this custom , but Tertullian observed: Christ calls Himself the Truth, not custom. So, just because everyone is doing it it is not necessarily allowed. It may be a terrible sin.
PRAYER; Jesus said, not My will but Thy will be done. Saint Turibus help me to do the will of God and to stop changing His laws to suit my lusts. Amen.
