December 26: Saint Stephen, the First Martyr
Saint Stephen told the Jews that their sacrifices were worthless and no longer pleasing to God. As in his day, the sacrifices of our day are worthless. Many think they have the Sacrifice of the Mass, and with rare exceptions they are totally fooled. Even if a priest or two does actually use the proper matter, form and intention, their Mass is still a sacrilege, because they are not offering it in union with the Church. It is absolutely necessary for a priest to be subject to the Pope to offer a Mass properly.
Saint Stephen was taken out and stoned for telling the Jews the truth, and we have suffered verbal abuse for our refusal to participate in sacrilege.
PRAYER: Saint Stephen, help us to stand fast today and always defend the truth. Amen.
