August 5: Saint Nonna
Saint Nonna became a saint by raising all three of her children to become saints. This proves the statement of Saint Paul to Timothy (I Timothy 2:15): she shall be saved through childbearing; if she continue in faith, and love, and sanctification, with sobriety. So mothers, if you want to be a saint, raise your children to be saints!
One of her children was Saint Gregory Nazianzen, who was a doctor of the Church; another was Saint Caesarius a medical doctor; and the last was Saint Gorgonia, who was the mother of a family.
PRAYER: Inspire all mothers, Saint Nonna, to raise their children to be saints, as you did. Amen.
