February 24: Saint Montanus
In Butler's we read: Montanus, who was endowed with great strength, both of body and mind, cried out, "He that sacrifices to any god but the True God, shall be utterly destroyed" This he often repeated. He also checked the pride and wicked obstinance of the heretics, telling them that they might discern the true church by the multitude of its martyrs. He later joined the multitude of martyrs. Let us follow his advice and stop sacrificing our time to the false gods of pleasure and sacrifice only to the True God Who can reward us eternally in heaven.
PRAYER: Saint Montanus, help me to stop sacrificing to the false gods of pleasure and to sacrifice only to the True God, so that I may someday join you in heaven praising Him for all eternity. Amen.
