December 9: Saint Leodacia
She was caught in the persecution in Spain. She was asked to abandon her faith, but refused. As reward she was publicly beaten as a slave was in those days, and thrown into prison half dead to await further torture. While there she learned of the tortures Saint Eulalia (December 10), the thirteen year old girl, was suffering at that time. She prayed to God to let her leave a world where such horrible things are done. God granted her prayer and soon took her home to heaven.
PRAYER: Saint Leodacia, help us to keep the faith in this time when the most horrible things are being done. Amen.
