November 14: Saint Josaphat, Martyr for the Papacy

Brought up as a Orthodox Ruthenian schismatic, Saint Josaphat joined the Catholic Church when the Ruthenians returned to the unity of the Faith.  He eventually entered a monastery and exposed the abbot's secret schismatic loyalties.  Then he was promoted to abbot and preached constantly fidelity to the Pope.  He cried out in a sermon:  Please God I will give my life for holy union, for the supremacy of Peter and of the Holy Father, his successor.  He was killed two weeks later by the Orthodox schismatics.
