Saint Francis de Sales
It is reported that his mother wanted to prevent him from becoming evil by keeping him from school, but his father overruled her genuine concern. Therefore he was sent away to school at the age of six. Although he was not corrupted by the world, should we follow his father's earthly prudence and ignore true prudence? Rather we should seek true wisdom as Saint Francis de Sales did and we can start by reading his wonderful books on the science of the saints.
Prayer: Saint Francis, who became a master of the science of the saints, inspire us, who read your books, to learn this same wonderful science and someday join with you in heaven, singing the praises of God. Amen.
